We take pride
In all the fear we represent
We think we speak for God
We think we’re heaven sent
How do you know
That what you’ve been told are the truths?
Cuz anyone that speaks different
Winds up with their neck wound in a noose?
Is it because
We are told what to believe
And if I don’t do what they say
They find new ways to deceive
Nobody wants to die
They’re playin on our fears
It’s an age old tactic
That has worked throughout the years
Here’s a simple fact
That no one can escape
No matter what you do in life
Your funeral will still take place
But because were self-important
There MUST be something more
We live, we die, we must move on
There must be a side door
And that’s where all the swindlers
Sell their little charms
They say they want to save your soul
When all they bring is harm
Preachers and politicians
To me, one and the same
Both men have hands in our pockets
And they have no shame


We live in the united states of deception
It’s a country that claims perfection
But the only things that have been brought to be
Violence, lies, and unchecked tyranny


One sells security
One peddles eternity
Both play with our lives as if
We are too blind to see
The chaos they create
A world full of hate
Father, son, and holy ghost
Are all just the bait
To make strife and war
And violence galore
They make these things then promise
That they will restore
Peace and sanctity
To all humanity
But they only seed they sew
Is insanity
And the fruit it bears
Will catch you unawares
You eat up that forbidden food
And all without a care
Of what tomorrow brings
You ate the food of kings
Now you must all pay the price
Each bite had its strings
And you must pay a toll
To keep your eternal soul
Or end up in a fiery place
In a deep, dark hole

That’s what they’d have you think
That you are on the brink
And if you don’t do what they say
You will have no link
To god or government
They will block your ascent
Unless you offer all your dollars
And change your intent
To what they’d have you do
As you start anew
Become a drone and follow suit
But their views are all askew
Some don’t even frown
Others choke it down
The rest of us are left to squander
In an ocean til we drown
An ocean made of lies
In which we’re all baptized
Take their hand or sink to the depths
Never to arise

Their words, though candy coated
Are poison that’s been promoted
They’ll keep you tabbed and noted
Until you are just as devoted
